Volunteers Needed for Lincoln Park Docent Program -docent training begins March 31, 2018

Do you enjoy talking with people from around the world? Would you also like to share your passion for Lincoln Park and the natural world?

The Lincoln Park Conservancy along with the Chicago Park District is seeking volunteers to become docents at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool in Lincoln Park, 125 W. Fullerton Parkway, Chicago.

The only landscape in Lincoln Park with National Historic Landmark status, the Lily Pool is a Prairie-Style masterpiece with a wooden pavilion, stone paths and native wildflowers that surround a tranquil pond and waterfall.

As a docent you will welcome visitors and share your knowledge of this hidden gem by talking with visitors from around the world and touring them around the site.

Training begins on Saturday, March 31, 2018 and continues for six Saturday mornings ending on May 12. Trainees will learn from area experts about the art of interpretation, the history of Lincoln Park, wildlife, plant life and landscape architecture. Deadline to register is Saturday, March 23.
