GIANTS IN THE PARKTuesday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 14 – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

 

Author Krista August’s Giants in the Park:  A Guide to Portrait Statues in Chicago’s Lincoln Park discusses the stories behind these classical artworks.  Ms. August will present a two-part program featuring stories about the statues, artists, benefactors and more, with historic photographs and book highlights. Registration for these programs is not necessary.

 

DISCOVERING THE BEAUTY OF POLISH FOLK ART

Saturday, October 4th  – 2 to 3 p.m.
Adults, teens and children age eight and up are invited to create a unique work of art with professional artist Sofia Sabala. This workshop will explore painting traditional Polish floral and abstract motifs on various materials. Sofia has created artistic weaving and decorative painting art for many years. The theme of her work often reflects the mountains, nature and customs of Poland. Registration for these programs is required.  Please visit the branch or call (312) 744-1926 to sign up.
